This is the proposal we submitted to the Nakagin Capsule Competition that was held recently.
The proposal was to create a bedroom and meditation space inside a capsule, with walls and ceilings made of earth.
If the symbol of modern architecture is a closed box or capsule, the architecture of the future will be a “vessel” that is open to the environment. With this in mind, we named it Utsu-wa.
Unfortunately, it was not adopted, but we are considering making a mobile wooden container for tea room use.
By the sea, in the mountains, in the suburbs, in a big city, or on top of a building…
We estimate production costs, including design fees, to be around 6 to 8 million yen,
but if you have any preferences we can adjust them to fit your budget.
If you are interested in making this a reality, please get in touch with us.

We look forward to hearing from you.
The capsules in Nakagin Capsule Tower were based on the theme of life and metabolism in the city, but in the coming age, we will need spaces made of earth where people can feel nature and empty themselves.
We propose a “soft space where energy flows as a living organism” using the earth.
This is a space for one person to do a digital detox, reexamine themselves, and “empty” themselves. After leaving your luggage and cell phone at the entrance, once inside there is an oval bed made of wood fiber and an earthen space for meditation.
